Tasks

Using the Kervin reading, plan and record a short podcast on one of the following ( or choose your own topic). You can work in a group or individually.
Aim for duration of around 2 minutes.

- Podcast about podcasts - what is a podcast? how does it work? - use this video for information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-MSL42NV3c

- Poetry podcast - choose a poem or two to read and then comment on.

- Book review - choose a book to review, read a section,then discuss what it is about this book you enjoy or include questions/activity prompts for use with students.

Podcast Criteria
- Jingle is used for the intro and outro
- Purpose of the podcast is clearly stated
- Speech is easily heard and makes sense
- Podcasts keeps to the topic
- Information is accurate, relevant, and interesting
- Editing responsibilities are shared
- Export your own copy as mp3 and save to your USB

Collect & Create:

Using the listed photo sites below, collect a series of images you could use with your class to:
- create a text innovation on a picture book create a powerpoint template for the text innovation
- create a jpg image of one powerpoint screen and post it on your blog.

Happily Blogging:
Find 2 or 3 educational blogs you could use to model to your class as examples of effective blogs or that could be used as a resource for learning (content).
-Post a link to each on your blog with a brief review that states the purpose, age group, content and features that make it a good model or resource for students.
